Night World No 1 Secret Vampire; Daughters of Darkness; Spellbinder LJ Smith Books

I was recommended the author LJ Smith after the last Twilight book came out and I was wanting something to help me forget about it. LJ Smith was a perfect suggestion. I loved the first Night World book. I love the way LJ writes and I found myself really enjoying her characters and their stories. I loved James and Poppy, loved Ash and Mary Lynette even more and loved Thea and Eric more than that.
My only complaint is that each of their stories ended a bit quickly, and I wanted to know more about each couple and see more of the romance and relationships. Especially Ash and Mary Lynette. I'm very curious to know just how that would work for them.
I liked that because they are all part of the Night World, that they kind of all intertwine a bit and would love it if each of these characters would make more appearances in the other stories.
I'm really looking forward to the next book and very much recommend this book. =D

Night World No 1 Secret Vampire; Daughters of Darkness; Spellbinder LJ Smith Books Reviews

The Night World books are a collection of stories put together in one. It is not a series like the Secret Circle books even though all the stories do intertwine with each other. I loved this book and had a very hard time putting it down. When I was done reading it I had to get the second book from the closest bookstore because I couldn't wait for shipping and handling. And now I am anxiously awaiting the third one to be released in April. The books are about the secret night world where werewolves, vampires, witches, and other creatures of magic live separately from humans and betraying the secret to a human is deadly. The stories all have a same common theme of finding ones soul mate in a very unexpected place but each of the stories is different and each meeting of soul mates is unique. L.J. Smiths characters are so beautiful and each one of them is different and colorful in there own way (even the bad guys). I especially love the way she writes about witches "more please". Each of the stories kept me wanting more, hungrily turning pages and not wanting them to end. I highly recommend these books for any one who wants good clean stories of love and triumph with an exciting edge.
I adored these night world books as a teen but could only find about half of them at my local library and read them terribly out of order.

Reading all 9 now, 3 per book, I may just love them more than I did as a teenager! While the plots are a bit obvious, the characters are strong and well-written. No damsels in distress here. The men remain dashingly handsome ;).

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed re-reading the Night World series, recommend it with joy, and can't wait for the finale!
This was the first book by L.J. Smith that I have read. I found it to be very enjoyable to read and was easy to read. Before reading this particular book I didn't realize that it consisted of three short stories within one book. I like this idea since sometimes my concentration is not good enough to concentrate on an entire. I had just recently finished reading The Passage by Justin Cronin and I needed something that was very easy to read and fun at the same time. I look forward to reading the other stories by L.J. Smith.
I had to have these books. I bought them to read them again. I know I've grown up a lot since I last read them, but I am okay with that, ha.

I would recommend these for entertainment purposes because they can be a little cheesy, but not nearly on the same level as Twilight. They are very fun and the characters are not bland at all.
Night World

This is a very big book, 700+ pages. But don't fear, it's easy and fast reading. It combines 3 stories of the Night World.

The first is Secret Vampire. This is a sad tale of a young girl diagnosed with cancer and it's too far along, she's dieing, and not in years, she has only a couple weeks possibly days. She's also a twin and her best friend is a mysterious boy she met when she was five. She's always known there is something different about James but didn't know what. She'll find out as she starts her life anew in the Night World and leaves behind everything she's known. But with James' help and his love for her, Poppy will prevail. Her first test deals with James' self centered trouble making cousin Ash. This was a great read. I enjoyed it more than Twilight. I compare to Twilight because when I started this book that was the first thing that came to mind, the stories are similar yet different. At least in this book the vampires really do have fangs. I hope to read of Poppy and James in future books of the Night World. I wonder too, will Poppy keep in touch with her witch brother Phil, her twin.

The second is Daughters of Darkness. You'll follow the lives of Krestel, Rowan, and Jade. These 3 vampires are the sisters of Ash. Yes Ash, you heard these girls' names in the first story and learned how bad Ash is. The 3 have ran away from home to go live with their Great Aunt Opal. Upon arriving at the bus station Opal isn't there to greet them so they start walking. I didn't realize what they were until the 2 boys pick the 3 girls up on the road and decide to take them on a field trip. There's another character here to, Mary-Lynnette, she's a star gazer and she catches the 3 girls burying something in Opal's flower garden that oddly resembles a body in trash bags. After some snooping by Mary-Lynnette and Mark, her brother, a friendship is made. There's something about Ash and Mary-Lynnette too, every time they touch it's electric. The odd group team up to find Opal's killer to discover there is also a werewolf in town. In this book I actually liked Ash. I hope to read more about him and Mary-Lynnette. Will they get together in a year as Ash promises?

The third is Spellbinder. In Secret Vampire, Ash took Poppy to meet his kin in Vegas, Thea and Blaise. These 2 are witches and have just been expelled from school again. Blaise enjoys snaring human boys and the destroying them when she's done playing with them. On their first day of school Thea meets her soulmate, Eric. Blaise is determined to have him for herself but none of her efforts are rewarded. In the chaos Thea releases a dead witch.

All three of these stories have to deal with the main character finding their soulmate, and always humans. All page turners and all worth the read.
Yes i love it but the last chapter of the series is still not out have been waiting on it for over 10 years. So i guess if u hate cliffhangers this series is one big cliffhanger ... But they are great books! Hope it helps
